The working principle of broadband ultrasonic transducer:

Ultrasound is composed of a series of dense longitudinal waves, which are propagated around by liquid medium. When the acoustic energy is high enough, the attraction between liquid molecules is broken in the loose half-cycle to form a cavitating nucleus. The lifetime of the nucleus is about 0.1 ugs. It can produce a local high temperature and pressure environment of about 4000K and 100MPa at the moment of explosion, and produce a micro-jet with strong impact force at a velocity of about 110m/s. This phenomenon is called ultrasonic cavitation. Ultrasound enhancement of chemical reaction and transport process is mainly caused by chemical and mechanical effects of ultrasonic cavitation.
