Ultrasonic welding uses 15 khz-50 kHz high frequency vibration to melt and weld plastic. The upper and lower parts are compressed, and the ultrasonic vibration is transmitted to the joint of the upper and lower parts, which causes alternating stress at the welding bar, heats and melts the plastic through the friction between the molecules. The ultrasound stops and the upper and lower parts remain pressed until they are bonded together.
